| August 30, 2015 9:00 PM

SPIRIT LAKE - With the game tied at 14, Timberlake marched on a 75-yard drive to score the go-ahead touchdown on a 2-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Brandon Hausladen, then held on to seal the 20-14 victory over Frenchtown (Mont.) in the nonleague season opener Saturday night at Van Tuinstra Memorial Field.

With 1:30 left in the game, the Tigers' defense made sure their season opener was kept intact, after they stopped Frenchtown on four straight downs on Timberlake's 35-yard line.

"Brandon put the team on his back, with our quarterback and tailback doing a fantastic job running the ball on the option," Timberlake coach Roy Albertson said. "Our defense did a fantastic job."

Timberlake's leading rushers were Ryan Starr, Gage Wells and Hausladen.
