| August 20, 2015 9:00 PM

RATHDRUM - Malia Parker, a Lakeland High graduate, will hold a Love to Nepal 5-kilometer fun run fundraiser on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

The event at Lakeland High will raise funds for a trip to Nepal to assist earthquake victims. Pre-registration, which includes a shirt, is $20 and can be done at https://lovetonepal.wordpress.com.

People can also register on Saturday for $25, but there will not be a guarantee of a shirt.

A donation account has also been set up at http://www.gofundme.com/yzux8a2.

Parker, 20, was a volunteer in Nepal two years ago.

"The exact area I served in was hit by the earthquake in April," Parker said. "It broke my heart, so I decided I wanted to go back again."

Parker plans to go to Nepal on Sept. 25 and has been accepted to join a disaster relief effort with Help International.
