UPDATE: Rathdrum Police reported this morning that Philip Rook was found at a medical facility in Spokane.

RATHDRUM - Rathdrum Police are seeking a Newman Lake, Wash., man after he apparently left his vehicle on Sunday at the northwest corner of Lancaster Road and Highway 41.

Philip W. Rook, 32, was last seen on Sunday by his roommate, according to police.

Police were notified of a suspicious vehicle parked in a field near the intersection around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Officers discovered the vehicle still running with the driver's door open and a key in the ignition, and a cellphone, prescription medication and identification left behind.

Relatives told police they had not had contact with Rook for several days and did not know why his vehicle would be in Rathdrum. However, Rook was reported to have friends in the Hayden area.

"Rook was reportedly on an unknown drug which made him paranoid that someone was following him," a Rathdrum Police press release states. "Rook also reportedly called his roommate later that night (on Sunday) reporting that he had been involved in a crash which disabled his vehicle."

Rathdrum Police requests assistance in locating Rook to determine if he is safe. In the vehicle, Rook left medication which he should be taking.

Rook is 6 feet tall, weighs 195 pounds, and has blue eyes and blond hair.

Those with information are urged to contact Detective Bill Ray at 687-0711.
