CRASH: Victim thankful for help

| April 29, 2015 9:00 PM

On April 13 I was on 1-90 freeway headed east toward Coeur d’Alene, looking forward to a hike on Tubbs Hill with my dog. I was stationary in traffic at the construction area when I was rear-ended by a car at highway speed. I was taken from the right hand lane of the freeway to the center of the grassy median. My car was totalled, but it saved my life. I was extremely lucky to walk away.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the civilians who helped me at the scene. A gentleman who gently held onto me to guide me back to the hard shoulder to sit down. To Tony who called my husband; also the gentleman in a brown jacket (I apologize that I do not remember all the names) but he ran after and retrieved my frightened dog, Tanner. I was transported to Kootenai ER with Kevin, Justin and Jamyson. You were so compassionate and calming to me in a stressful situation. You are all special guys, and I am so grateful for the tremendous work you do in our community each and every day. God bless you all and again a huge thank you.
