Twila Baukol, 65, of Christine, N.D., passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

Twila Elizabeth Baukol was born March 21, 1950, in Chehalis, Wash., the daughter of Edward and Merna (Bunce) Drain. She was raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1969. She worked at the Kootenai County Hospital kitchen until moving to Seattle in 1976 and was employed at the Swedish Hospital until 1977.

Twila met Rick Baukol in 1976 and they were married April 30, 1977. The couple moved to Burlington, N.D. There she operated an at-home day care from 1983 until retiring in 2003. They moved to Christine in 2008 where they built their dream home. Since having open heart surgery in 2009, Twila's activities had been restricted.

Twila enjoyed Facebook, reality TV, her smart phone and buying gifts. Being frugal, she typically enjoyed buying Christmas gifts in August. Above all, her family was most important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
