Wolfinger completes training
Kootenai County Sheriff Ben Wolfinger has graduated from the National Sheriffs' Institute, a national executive development program designed for sheriffs.
Wolfinger attended the 107th session of the institute, held for five days last week in Aurora, Colo.
According to a press release, Wolfinger joined 27 other sheriffs from across the country for training on contemporary challenges facing America's sheriffs today. In light of those challenges, the sheriffs explored the role of the local sheriff in providing effective leadership for the public good in such areas as public safety, criminal justice system policy, community relations and organization effectiveness and efficiency.
Wolfinger is the first sheriff from Kootenai County to graduate from the National Sheriffs' Institute, a no-cost program co-sponsored by the National Institute of Corrections and the National Sheriffs' Association.
