Floyd Bryce Taylor, 93, passed away quietly in his home in Hayden, Idaho, on Sunday, April 12, at the age of 93.

Floyd was born in Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 12, 1921, and graduated from high school in Metaline Falls, Wash. He served in World War II as an aircraft instrument specialist in the 441st Bomber Squadron and upon returning home was married to the love of his life, Alice Mae Scott MacLean, on July 4, 1946, in Spokane.

Alice and Floyd had six children and celebrated 56 years of marriage together until her death in 2002. Over the years they lived at Sullivan Lake, Wash., Grayland, Wash., and finally settled on acreage north of Hayden where they spent the last 45 years.

Floyd was a jack-of-all-trades with careers in the logging and mining industries, eventually settling into a business partnership with his son, Roy, as a mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing, and shared these passions with his sons. Floyd was very musical and could be found playing the organ, piano or accordion almost every day. He also loved to travel, garden and enjoyed his church family.

Floyd was passionate about his family and is survived by his children: Roy (Marcia) of Hayden, Jay (Jackie) of Hayden, Lon (Kristi) of Hayden, Kim (Renee) of Athol, Lee (Laura) of Coeur d'Alene, and April (Stephen) of Toronto. Additionally, he is survived by his 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
