PEDOPHILES: Where is the outrage?

| September 28, 2014 9:00 PM

What is it with men? Why are they the gender of the pedophile 99 times out of 100 if not all 100? And why is our community more outraged over flags in trees, having guns in public places or deer in Dalton Gardens?

The latest alleged pedophile offender named Mr. Meador of Post Falls is on trial soon and there’s no outrage in this paper or any other that I’ve seen. Has molesting or exposing one’s penis to little girls become that “ho-hum… or no biggie?” Are the charges false? Why was he questioned in 2010 for exposing himself to an 8-year-old girl by the same Post Falls police detective?

There is nothing new under the sun. My little sister, then a student at Southside School in Bonner County, had such an exposing experience 40 years ago in the Dufort Road/Hoodoo Valley area at her classmate’s house having her church and school friend warning her that her dad would soon “drop his towel,” which he did. Maybe it’s worse now than then? Or just more common? Maybe not. (He was never prosecuted to my knowledge, largely because I too was afraid to speak up.)

So sexual deviants aren’t new. But then neither are American flags, guns or deer.

So “ho-hum” affirmation it is evidently. The more we fear, the more we tolerate. Besides, flags, guns and deer are more important.
