Community Thanks September 28, 2014

| September 28, 2014 9:00 PM

Thank You for a GREAT Day of Caring!

United Way of Kootenai County would like to recognize the many employees of our community businesses for their volunteer service during our Annual Day of Caring. Hundreds of volunteers committed a full day to make a difference in Kootenai County by volunteering for nonprofit agencies in our communities. The Day of Caring represents United Way of Kootenai County's role of bringing our community together. The work done last week would not have been possible if it weren't for the dedicated companies partnering with United Way of Kootenai County.

There were 31 projects from Rathdrum to Kidd Island and 342 volunteers working 1,372 hours, for a total of more than $30,000 saved by community nonprofits thanks to the hard work from our community! And, in the food drive competition, 5,867.47 pounds of food was collected and $3,493.96 was collected for the Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls Food Banks!
