COEUR d'ALENE - A 22-year-old Post Falls man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a string of vehicle and residential burglaries.

Theodore Waterman was contacted by Coeur d'Alene Police officers at 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot at the 11th Street entrance to Tubbs Hill, a department press release states. At the time of their contact with Waterman, officers were aware that he had three felony warrants for previous burglary charges and, according to the release, was a suspect in several other cases.

The release goes on to state that multiple Kootenai County law enforcement agencies have been investigating several burglaries. The victims of these burglaries, according to the release, returned to their vehicles and discovered their windows smashed, or the trunk lock popped and their belongings missing.

According to the release, Waterman might not have been working alone.

"Many of the items taken in these crimes were debit cards or credit cards," the release states. "Suspects used the cards at area businesses to obtain cash or gift cards. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the burglaries to determine the identity of any and all suspects involved."

Waterman was taken into custody without incident on burglary charges. According to the release, additional burglary charges are expected.
