Tax deed auction set for Oct. 6

| September 23, 2014 9:00 PM

Kootenai County's annual Tax Deed Auction will be held at 9 a.m., Oct. 6, on the lower level of the Kootenai County Administration Building, 451 N. Government Way, Room 1A/1B, Coeur d'Alene.

Pre-registration is not required, but interested parties, or their representatives, must attend the auction in order to bid.

The Tax Deed Auction procedure has been amended from previous years. In order to meet bidding requirements for the auction, the successful bidder is required to pay a non-refundable deposit, equal to the minimum bid amount advertised, immediately after the property is sold. Only cash, cashier's checks, or money orders will be accepted. The board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The winning bidder must return by 3:30 p.m. with the balance due in order to complete the purchase. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit (minimum bid) amount. Kootenai County does not offer a financing program. Bidders should be aware that parcels are sold 'as-is', and there is no guarantee as to access, building, or septic permits for the properties being sold.

Further information regarding this year's sale, including a detailed property list, can be obtained in the Treasurer's Office, at the address provided below, or on the county website, www.kcgov.us/departments/treasurer/propertytaxsale.asp.
