CAMPING: Finding two good men

| September 17, 2014 9:00 PM

My husband has been sick and the doctor finally told us he could go camping for a couple of days. So we went up to Avery and camped for three days. We met some real nice people who were camping next to us — a guy named Randy, who was from Port Townsend, Wash.

He saw that we had no wood to burn on our last night of camping. He came back with wood all cut up ready to go. So we had a nice evening before we left and stayed up way too late to watch the fire!

We were almost home, pulling our trailer and our truck stopped on the Veterans bridge just outside town. The bridge is no place to be sitting, I can tell you that for sure! Within minutes a patrolman pulled up and I must say he was just another very thoughtful man. His name was Kevin. He gave us each a cold bottle of water and watered our dog. We were so upset and he stayed with us until Allstate had called us a tow truck and he waited until he knew we were all safe and on our way home.

Hats off to Kevin of the Idaho State Highway Patrol.
