Switching it up on Sherman
Two changes are happening across the street from each other on the east side of the intersection at 11th and Sherman Avenue.
DanceTales Studio opened last week at 1111 Sherman Ave. The studio originally opened in 2002 at 1124 Sherman. That location will become the home of McAllister Technical Services, which you'll hear details about in a future issue.
The dance studio offers group and private lessons for adults and teens 15 and older in ballroom, Latin, swing, country, dance theater and ballet. Other options include weekly Tuesday evening open dances for students and the public and wedding dance private instruction.
With college degrees in dance and physical education, owner-instructor Sheryl Bentz-Sipe trained with top dance professionals and has taught dance for 25 years, including the last 13 at NIC. Other instructors are Tex Peak in country and Julie Ganter in ballet.

Sewinjeanius is so ingenious
With tag lines of "Turn your blues into news" and "Refit-Revive-Recycle," Karen Erickson has opened sewinjeanius in Studio 214 at 401 1/2 Sherman Ave. (above Moose Lounge).
Services include jeans hemming, modifications and embellishments (bling and embroidery), repair, replacements and custom work. She also offers area pickup and delivery and jeans repair parties.
With college degrees in fashion merchandising and home economics, Erickson has 35 years experience in sewing, design and small businesses.
Pickup and delivery is Mondays and Fridays and sewing/fitting hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The studio includes a fitting area, lounge, soda bar, TV and drop-box.

Coeur de Breizh Crepes opens
Normally I don't write about movable eateries, but in this case I am because a few weeks ago I whined that although Coeur d'Alene is French-trader founded and language, it doesn't have a French restaurant. (Yes, I know Post Falls does in Fleur de Sel).
Now Cd'A has Coeur de Breizh Crepes in a large mobile at 3615 N. Government Way (across from Sunset Animal Hospital). "Breizh" refers to the region in northwest France where crepes (rolled thin pancakes with stuffings and sauces) originated.
Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays and expanding soon. The mobile also will remain at the farmers markets and special events. Owner Heather Riviere said she also has gluten-free crepes and can be phoned (907-1460) and emailed for orders and pickup. Check www.cdbcrepes.com.
