NESSE: Why she's the better choice

| September 14, 2014 9:00 PM

While there are many reasons to vote for Anne Nesse over her opponent, Kathy Sims, I would like to focus on just two. First her commitment to the position as a full-time representative and secondly her position on the crucial issue of mental health.

Anne Nesse would be a full-time legislator. Her opponent will not. Sims has not worked on issues relevant to most residents here. She has worked hard to dismantle urban renewal districts in Idaho. Anne will not be in Boise working on trying to get state control of federal lands which is another example of her opponent tilting at windmills. Anne will be working to raise the minimum wage, attract jobs and improve the quality of our health and education systems. Anne pledges to be as accessible as possible work diligently for her constituents whatever their party. Anne wants to help raise Idaho up from the low rankings it has in so many areas.

Mental health is a high priority for Anne. She will work to make sure Coeur d’Alene gets the next regional mental health crisis center. Anne believes that the mentally ill and addicted citizens of Idaho need treatment so that they can be assets to Idaho as productive and healthy neighbors. Anne’s background as an educator and a heath professional have given her working knowledge of mental health and how important and good it is. If we, as voters in North Idaho’s District 4-B, want to improve our representation we ought to elect Anne Nesse. She will work full time and work on issues that are important to us. She will be out in the community seeing what is needed and listening to the thoughts of her constituents. This will be a welcome change from our current legislator.
