Cd'A downs G-Prep, now 6-0

SPOKANE - Coeur d'Alene dropped its first game of the season but otherwise cruised, beating Gonzaga Prep 25-18, 25-11, 22-25, 25-21 in nonleague play on Thursday night to improve to 6-0.

Megan Ramseyer had 18 kills, 11 assists, eight digs and five aces for Coeur d'Alene, which totaled 15 aces. Missy Huddleston added eight kills and six digs, Ali Williams had five kills and 17 assists, and Zoe Burgess and Delaney Schmidt each had three aces. Burgess also had six digs.

"The girls showed great composure to come back after that third game loss," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said.

Coeur d'Alene plays at the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Natalie Taylor totaled 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces as the host Timberwolves swept the Bulldogs 25-21, 28-26, 25-18 in nonleague play.

Macy DeCoeur had eight kills and two blocks, Brittany Gay seven kills for Lake City (2-2). CC Cates had 27 assists, Alisa Ricciardi had 10 digs, and Tatumn Gould had nine digs and two aces.

Sandpoint dropped to 5-4.

Lake City plays at the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

Post Falls

LEWISTON - Allison Munday had five kills and Brooke Bowers had four kills for the Trojans, who lost to the Bengals 25-21, 25-7, 25-20 in the 5A Inland Empire League opener for both schools at Booth Hall.

"I thought we were pretty competitive tonight," Post Falls coach Willow Hanna said. "We saw some good things. Our youth and inexperience showed at times, but we were pretty proud of the plays we ran and we passed the ball really well."

Jasmine Haskew had three aces, Amanda Westlake seven digs and Lydea Schneider nine assists for Post Falls (5-4, 0-1), which competes in the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

SPIRIT LAKE - Jasmine Hill had 10 kills and Malorie Stopping had five digs for the Badgers in a 25-21, 25-17 25-15 win against the Tigers in the Intermountain League opener for both schools.

Courtney Eaton had nine assists, Kiara Hauck four digs and Jacquelyn Mallet four kills and three digs for Timberlake (0-4, 0-1 IML), which competes in the Freeman Invitational on Saturday.

Bonners Ferry travels to the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

St. Maries

KELLOGG - The Wildcats won the final two games to knock off the Lumberjacks 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 25-18 in nonleague play.

Kari Ghramm led St. Maries (3-1) with eight kills and four digs. Kristen Womack had seven kills. Kelsey Auer had 14 assists. Catherine Flach had two blocks and one ace.

"It was good competition," St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. "It was a good match. We were getting some good digs and some good touches, just not good touches on the blocks. Our serving was OK. We weren't running quite as smoothly as we liked."

St. Maries and Kellogg are scheduled to play in the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.
