FLAG: Hero, show thyself

| September 5, 2014 9:00 PM

I called attention in an email to the flag on the tree, as I thought it would be a good human-interest story.

I didn’t mean to start a controversy. I simply thought we could find out about how and by whom such a remarkable feat was done. It most assuredly isn’t something that should be undone in the name of “littering public land.” It is a unique and satisfying phenomenon to see this flag flying in the breeze, lit up and all, but I’m still wondering what kind of “midget” or “daredevil” could climb this tree, evidently more than once, to make such a display.

Thanks for airing the story. I still wish the hero would tell us the how and why of the story.
