Final list of local candidates released
The Kootenai County's Elections office released the final list of candidates who have filed for local offices in the Nov. 4 general election. The filing deadline was 5 p.m. Tuesday.
"Voters have choices in five of the six county offices up for election," said Chief Deputy Clerk Pat Raffee. "Only the magistrate judges, North Idaho College trustees, and Kootenai-Shoshone Soil & Water Conservation supervisors races have limited voter choice at this point."
Only the incumbents filed for NIC trustee seats, and only two candidates filed for a total of three supervisor seats in the Soil and Water Conservation race.
However, write-in candidates may submit a Declaration of Intent with the taxing districts if they do so before 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.
