HAYDEN - A local church is hosting "Discover Prophecy," a seminar that aims to show people how the Bible can answer questions arising from current global events.

The three-night seminar begins Saturday at 7 p.m. at Hayden Lake Adventist Church, which is located at 12940 N. Government Way. According to a press release, attendees will "discover that the book of Revelation provides answers to life's most challenging questions."

Discover Prophecy Seminars are led by Brian McMahon, a pastor who has worked throughout the world to further his goal of making complex Bible topics clear and understandable. According to the release, McMahon uses multimedia technology to illustrate his presentation topics and make them more accessible.

McMahon told The Press Wednesday that, as people look at the "troubling developments" in the world, they often wonder where society is heading.

"And to find the answers they are taking a second look at the Bible and are finding out that things predicted over 2,000 years ago are happening now," McMahon said.

The seminar, according to McMahon, focuses on covering "the essence" of the Christian faith by emphasizing end-times events and prophecy.

"My goal and prayer for bringing this seminar to the Hayden and Coeur d'Alene communities is that we will teach the way to help people have hope in what seems, at times, to be a hopeless world," McMahon said. "In short, we want them to know the Bible better and trust that God has answers for a hurting world. Bible prophecy is for everyone and can be understood in a simple and clear manner."

The seminar is free and childcare is available for those with children from 4 to 9 years old. For more information on the seminar, call (208)777-5850 or go to www.brianmcmahon.com and click on "current seminar."
