RECYCLE: Please follow the rules

I have lived in the Mica Flats area for 11 years and have appreciated the convenience of the dumpsters on Kidd Island Road. As of 2-3 years ago, we can also recycle mixed paper, aluminum and cardboard at the same site. When I went to recycle some cardboard recently, I noticed that someone had placed plastic and glass in the bin that is clearly marked “NO Plastic or Glass.”

Please, if you are a “year rounder,” “summer folk” or “visitor,” don’t be the reason we lose “this convenience” in Mica/Kidd Island. The same goes for those who leave their appliances, electronics and large furniture. The transfer station is located on Ramsey Road. Please use it for your items that can’t be accepted at the dumpsters.
