VOTE: Let conscience be your guide

| October 10, 2014 9:00 PM

The Nov. 4 election allows us to choose local officials to represent district constituents’ beliefs and values on issues such as education, minimum wage and mental illness treatment. This affects us at the most personal and relevant level as whomever is elected is a citizen of our local community, familiar with local needs and issues.

While canvassing for Cheryl Stransky, running for District 2A State Representative, I have been disappointed to find a number of people unwilling to even consider her as a viable choice as she is a Democrat. This party line stance limits our community’s possibilities as it is the person, not the party, who ultimately protects what Coeur d’Alene area citizens want and need for our immediate future.

This is a chance to vote for the person who will best represent our community and help move it toward a thriving and healthy future. Cheryl Stransky has invested the past 37 years to living, working and raising a family in our Coeur d’Alene community. When elected, she will continue that investment for the future benefit of all District 2A constituents.

I urge District 2A constituents to review the issues under consideration for the upcoming legislative session. Arm yourself with where each candidate stands on these issues and select the person, not the party, who best represents YOU.

Please vote in the upcoming election. Vote for your choice, your conscience and, most importantly, your community.
