POST: Simply follow the law

The Knapps of the “Hitching Post” aren’t being “forced to violate their religious beliefs,” they’re being told to obey the law of our land. They opened their doors and invited the public to purchase their services. They’re in it for the money and the public is there for their services.

If the Knapps and other businesses are allowed to discriminate against members of the public, we’re back to no blacks at the lunch counter, no Jews in your neighborhood, etc. We’ll have every bigot with a business license rewriting the Constitution to fit his particular prejudice. They do that in Iraq, and Shia and Sunni Muslims kill each other over it every day. Our legal system as represented in North Idaho had better knock off the crap and stop wondering if the Knapps have a reasonable case. They don’t. Not if this is still America.
