INMATE: Looking for second chance

| March 30, 2014 9:00 PM

My name is Kyle Trusty. I am currently an inmate at the Kootenai County Jail. I have been here since Nov. 20, 2013. I am being released on May 19, 2014, as a felon on felony probation.

People told me you must hit rock bottom before you get back up. Well, I am at rock bottom and going to start the very hard, very long, climb hopefully to the top out of this hole I created for myself.

I got addicted to heroin one year ago, and lost the respect of so many people I looked up to as mentors in my life. I want to apologize to those people I hurt and betrayed. I feel horrible for the things I have done, and people tell me they will give me a second chance. I want to prove to these people I can be the good, honest, sober person I once was, and in order to do so I am starting to look for an employer while I am incarcerated. If any employer in Kootenai County believes in second chances and will hire a hard working person, please look me up. I promise you will not be disappointed. When I get released, I am looking to start a new life and want to stand up on my own two feet and be a good, honest, hardworking man, like my dad was before he passed away.

I hope there are still some people who believe in second chances like I do.
