PASTRY: All's not sweet in capital

| March 28, 2014 9:18 PM

I was so disheartened to hear that the White House pastry chef had to resign because Michelle wanted him to stop using so much sugar and butter in his confections. Gosh, I hope he finds another hundred grand a year job somewhere else. I also feel sorry for the 200-plus people working for the White House who now have to go without their doughnuts and creme puffs.

Then again, that means someone else will get his job, maybe the President’s shoe polisher? (He only gets 50 grand a year.) How about one of 20 or so Rose Garden tendees? Hey, you think they need a White House pooper scooper? If it pays $10/hour I’m for hire, and I’m sure that’s cheaper than what they’re willing to pay.
