Keep track of candidates

COEUR d'ALENE - Kootenai County Clerk Jim Brannon announced Monday that starting today the county elections staff will be posting daily updates to the county's elections website.

The daily updates will list the names of candidates who filed for offices on the May 20, 2014, primary election as of 5 p.m. the prior day.

"There's a great deal of interest in candidate filings," Brannon said in a press release. "I commend the elections staff for this idea to give voters, media representatives and other candidates the most convenient access to new information."

The county elections home page is at http://www.kcgov.us/elections/. Click on the candidate filing information update report for the latest information.

The filing period for the May 20 primary election opens today, and closes March 14 at 5 p.m.

In the early evening of March 14, the clerk's office will issue a press release with the final roster of candidates for all races on the May 20 ballot.
