They'll do the Monster mash

COEUR d'ALENE - They have names ranging from Iron Outlaw to Ice Cream Man.

If you get revved-up over huge trucks rumbling over seemingly small obstacles, you're in for a sweet treat.

The All Star Monster Truck Mash-Up presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts will be held at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday.

Gates open at 5:30 each night and showtime is at 7:30. The O'Reilly VIP pre-party and meet and greet is 6-7 p.m. Free passes for the party are available at any area O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

"The Kootenai County Fairgrounds is bringing (the event) to Coeur d'Alene as a fun family activity to kick off the summer," said Kristi Blaver, fairgrounds spokeswoman.

The last time monster trucks rumbled at the fairgrounds was 2009.

Advance tickets are available at all North Idaho Jifi Stops for $10 for general admission. Online reserved grandstand tickets are $12. Tickets at the gate are $12 for general admission and $15 for reserved grandstands.

Tickets remain available for both Friday and Saturday.

Trucks and drivers entered in the exhibitions include:

* Bounty Hunter, Jim Creten, Tonganoxie, Kan., 2008 Ford Expedition

* Iron Outlaw, Nate Kirchner, Tonganoxie Kan., 2008 Ford Expedition

* Xtermigator, J.R. McNeal, Paisley Fla., 2013 Dodge Ram

* Ice Cream Man, Jimmy Walker, Ocala, Fla., 2013 Dodge panel van

The show will also feature an ATV race and a Tough Truck Challenge in which amateurs can compete with their own trucks. Sign up at www.kcfairgrounds.com.

The Ice Cream Man will be featured at the O'Reilly Auto Parts parking lot on Appleway on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. in Coeur d'Alene. There will be free food and ice cream and chances to win tickets to the show.
