Patricia Ann Crossman, 61

| June 5, 2014 1:40 PM

Patricia Ann "Pat" Crossman, 61, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Kootenai Health Center after a courageous battle with the auto-immune disease, Dermatomyositis.

The daughter of Joseph and Beatrice Pangonis, Pat was born November 3, 1952, in Elmira, N.Y. She graduated from Elk Lake High School in 1970, entered Western Kentucky, then later earned a degree in accounting from Wisconsin University.

On November 22, 1980, Pat married Bob Crossman. They lived in Fargo, N.D., and Waukesha, Wis., before moving to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1989.

Pat was the driving force behind the Crossroads Dance Club, and had a great impact on many lives through the years, kindling the relationships of 18 couples who married after meeting at the Crossroads.

Many will remember Pat's cooking skills; she catered many events throughout the years. Always a perfectionist, she never settled for “get it done.”

While Pat fought the disease for two years – living with a high pain level and decreased mobility – she was still concerned about others, rather than herself.

Married 33 years, she was always worried about her “Bobby,” and that she was a burden on him. While struggling to do the simplest tasks, ever strong, always searching for relief from the pain, she never gave up - but the disease won.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bob; mother, Bea Pangonis; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jerry Stroka; mother and father-in-law, Orvin and Ada Larson; nieces and husbands: Jennifer and Jason Cobb, Christine and Art Butler; nephews: Tom (Kim) Stroka, and Michael Stroka; stepdaughters: Naicia (Steve) Miner, and Michelle (Eric) Gehrke; granddaughters: Ambria, Anna, and Adaline Miner, Alyssa (Colin) Moulton; and great grandson, Wesley.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, Idaho, with visitation at 5 p.m. A reception will follow. Please visit Pat’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
