Police seek robbery suspect

COEUR d'ALENE - Coeur d'Alene Police Detectives are investigating a robbery of The Jitterz coffee stand in the 2800 block of Government Way on Friday between 5:55 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The suspect is described as a white male, early 20s, 5-Foot-8 to 5-foot-9, very skinny build, white T-shirt and blue jean shorts. The suspect male entered the coffee stand through the entrance/exit door. Once inside the coffee stand the suspect male ordered the two female employees to the ground and stated "this is a robbery, I have a gun." No weapon was displayed as the suspect had a black shirt over his right hand and was pointing it toward the female employees. The suspect attempted to open the cash register, but was unsuccessful. He then took an unknown amount of cash from the tip container.

A male witness pulled up to the coffee stand and saw what was going on, and attempted to confront the suspect. The witness attempted to detain the suspect until police arrived, but the suspect was able to get away. He was last seen running eastbound on Anton Avenue from the coffee stand.
