City to accept grant proposals

| July 2, 2014 9:00 PM

The city of Coeur d'Alene is accepting competitive grant proposals for projects or services that benefit low-to-moderate income people or neighborhoods.

Successful applications will be for projects that promote job creation and economic development. Any individual, for-profit or nonprofit organizations, businesses or governmental agencies may apply for the Community Development Block Grants.

Independent programs and projects may be submitted for two periods in 2014 and 2015. Available funding for 2014 is $120,000. Funding for 2015 has not yet been determined.

A CDBG grant workshop will be held at 1:30 p.m. July 11, in the old council chambers at Coeur d'Alene City Hall. The workshop will provide basic information regarding the city's CDBG program.

Expectations will be discussed for proposals that will be submitted under this Request For Proposals, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions regarding the project application and procurement process.
