Country star Lynch coming to North Idaho Fair

| January 31, 2014 8:00 PM

An arena concert hasn't been featured at the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo in more than 20 years, but that will change in a big way this summer.

Billboard chart-topper and country heartthrob Dustin Lynch will perform on the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo's Main Arena stage on Aug. 20, opening night of the five-day fair held each year at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Government Way, Coeur d'Alene.

Lynch's hit "Cowboys and Angels" reached Billboard's No. 2 spot as well as received nominations for CMT Music Awards' Breakthrough Video of the Year and American Country Music Awards' Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Singles "Wild in Your Smile," and currently rising hit "She Cranks my Tractor" have also been featured on Billboard's Hot 100.

In addition to the concert, the fair will also feature another new arena event on Thursday night, PRCA Xtreme Bulls.

The headline concert and Xtreme Bulls performances will replace the previous Wednesday and Thursday arena performances of Motocross.

"Motocross has always been a terrific event and pastime at the North Idaho Fair," says Fairgrounds General Manager Dane Dugan. "We have a great relationship with Motion Sports and are looking forward to motocross remaining a summer entertainment staple here at the fairgrounds. We have received many requests for new and different shows, so we are excited to offer these new performances for the 2014 fair."

Tickets for Dustin Lynch and Xtreme Bulls along with other arena performances will go on sale Feb. 1 www.northidahofair.com.
