Gerald Monroe Whortan, 76

Gerald Monroe Whortan, age 76, resident of Coeur d'Alene, passed away at his home.

Jerry was born on February 12, 1937, in Bartlett, California, to Lester and Doris (Chrysler) Whortan. He married Sheila McIntyre on August 11, 1962, in California. They moved to North Idaho in 1977. For many years, he worked as an electrician for Pacific Gas and Electric. He was also an avid fisherman.

Jerry is survived by two nephews: Gerald Whortan of Hillsborough, NC, and David Whortan of Charlotte, NC; and his cousin, Jack Fitzpatrick, of Anchorage, AK. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Cathy; step-son, William; his parents; and his brother, Lawrence.
