StoryCatcher program at Cd'A library
COEUR d'ALENE - Barbara Mueller, coordinator of the StoryCatcher program at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, will lead a two-session workshop on interviewing, recording and editing oral histories on Jan. 27 and Jan. 29 at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.
Both sessions will be from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be offered in the Shirley Parker Storyroom in the Seagraves Children's Library on the lower level of the library.
The StoryCatcher program, privately funded by the Library Foundation, aims to "capture the spirit of our community" through the stories and experiences of its inhabitants. Interested volunteers are being recruited to help with interviewing, recording, editing, and archiving these stories on the Internet.
The library now has a permanent recording studio which features the art of Allen and Mary Dee Dodge based on traditional Native American storytelling symbols.
The workshop is free, but seating is limited. Register by calling the foundation at 769-2380.
