D. Kayce Wood, 29
After a very short illness, a beautiful and gentle soul left this earth and many behind broken hearted.
Kayce was always his Momma's sunshine and sparkle, and his smile brightened all her days. Kayce was a friend to all who knew him. He didn't know a stranger, and was always willing to lend a hand or offer a smile or a cheer. He had some very special friends: Greg Campbell, George Cary, Dirk Plumbly, Jody Anderson, Sara Ripley, and so many others that always had his back, and supported and loved him dearly. All of these people and more have been such a bright light to all of us who are crushed by his passing.
Kayce was a proud graduate of Lake City High School and a lifetime resident of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He leaves behind his mother, Lisa Lowry Vuittonet, and "bonus" dad, Mike Vuittonet. His other very special dad, "Goon" Jack Hawkins (Julie), helped raise Kayce from the time he was 4, and was influential in molding Kayce into the man he was. Kayce also leaves his sweet sisters, Kenna and Megan Hawkins, and his bonus family, Tasha and Toby Hugo, Mike and Rachel Perez, Josh Vuittonet, Sarah Vuittonet, Jim and Gail Hawkins, Alicia Vuittonet Clements, and his Nonnie (Non) Billie Lowry. Kayce also leaves behind many, many aunts, uncles, cousins neices and nephews.
Kayce was preceded in passing by his father, David Max Wood; his paternal grandparents, Max and Genieve Wood; his Papa, William V. Lowry; and his best friend, Todd Sverstein.
Our Family would like to extend our deep gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Kootenai Medical Center and St. Lukes Boise for the their exceptional care and concern for Kayce during his stay with all of you.
Kayce's request is that all that would come to celebrate his life would come in casual attire and “ties not accepted" scissors will be provided for all who choose to wear a tie. The memorial for Kayce will be held at the Coeur d'Alene Inn on Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. Kayce's ashes will be spread at a later date this summer at his favorite place ... on the lake at sunset. On the night of your passing I saw a shooting star and know that was your way of telling me that you're hangin' with Todd and all who were there to greet you!
Cheers!
