Interactive exhibit at NIC starts Tuesday

The community is invited to the "Footsteps: A Journey of Many" interactive exhibit to be held at North Idaho College Edminster Student Union Building March 4-6. Reservations can be made online at www.nic.edu/footsteps.
Footsteps is an interactive exhibit that highlights issues of social injustice, both current and historic. After being escorted through each exhibit groups will have a chance to discuss their reactions with a facilitator, and be offered resources to be involved with topics if they choose.
Each room is its own "exhibit" that will deal with unique topics chosen, researched, and presented by different student groups. The rooms highlight contemporary issues of social injustice and introduce participants to experiences they wouldn't normally encounter.
These experiences are designed to be intense and affect several senses - to put the participant in someone else's shoes. Topics in the past have included animal welfare, poverty, social isolation and challenges faced by those living in third-world countries.
Groups will be led through the free exhibit every half hour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then from 3 to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are encouraged. Reservations and consent forms can be made online at www.nic.edu/footsteps.
"Footsteps: A Journey of Many" is designed for a mature, college-aged audience. High school students are welcome, but they should have permission from their parents if they are younger than 18.
