PRODUCT: One unhappy customer

A year ago a friend convinced me to try Magic Jack — just $29.95 a year. It worked great for a year, then about a month ago we started having problems; we could not dial out and could only receive incoming calls. If we had an emergency we could not dial 911. We could only communicate with MJ on life chat.

They listened, and we expended over six hours and talked to eight different representatives. No solution.

I decided to go back to Frontier, and then we encountered another problem. MJ would not release our number even though it is a federal law they must. After another 3-4 hours we finally got them to authorize the release of the number and they sent me an email that says to complete the transfer of your number “click here.” I did, and the next box that popped up was a charge of $33 to transport the number.

Magic Jack offers no customer service and only live chat that always says, “Hi, my name is, and how may I help you?” I thought I was in Walmart. Anyway, think twice before buying their product.
