A lot of pills

| February 18, 2014 8:35 AM

Idaho State Police officers discovered nearly 2,000 pills - narcotic pain relievers that legally require a physician’s prescription - in a vehicle that was pulled over earlier today for a traffic violation on Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls.

Deangelo K. Hankston, 31, from North Las Vegas, Nev. was driving a 2007 Lincoln Navigator when police directed him to stop the vehicle. He was operating it with a suspended driver’s license, and the investigation revealed Hankston had recently been smoking marijuana.

A search of the vehicle revealed 1,784 oxycodone pills and 195 hydrocodone pills. The estimated street value of the drugs is $55,000.

Hankston was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for driving without privileges, possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), and two felony counts of intent to deliver hydrocodone and oxycodone pills. ISP was assisted by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office and their K-9 drug dog.
