| February 14, 2014 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Austin Paulsen and Devin Kluss had steals in the final minute for the Coeur d'Alene Vikings, who held off the visiting Moscow Bears 65-60 in a nonleague battle between the 5A Inland Empire League champions and the 4A IEL champs on Thursday night at Elmer Jordan Court.

"It was a one- or two-possession game and we were able to get some stops because of those steals," Coeur d'Alene coach Kurt Lundblad said. "It was just a back and forth game."

Colby Daniels scored 20 points, Tony Naccarato had 11 points and seven rebounds and Kluss finished with 14 points for Coeur d'Alene (15-3), which hosts Sandpoint on Saturday.

"We still need to get better at closing out games," Lundblad said. "But we were able to gut out a win."

Nick Ellison scored 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting for Moscow (7-10).

"He's a heck of a player," Lundblad said. "He shot the ball really well."

ST. MARIES - Keegan Scott scored six of his team's eight points in overtime to lead the visiting Tigers to a nonleague win.

The Lumberjacks (7-10) led by five points with 1:24 remaining in regulation, but Timberlake's pressure defense helped force overtime, St. Maries coach John Bisson said.
