Anonymous reaches deep for CFA

It's a sad fact that Press Christmas for All sometimes falls short of its fundraising goal, as it did last year and the year before that.
Anonymous in Athol has had quite enough of sad facts.
"We're reaching," A in A told The Press on Thursday. "We hope everybody else will reach, too."
With that, Anonymous in Athol reached into his wallet and dug out a check for $20,000, written to Press Christmas for All. It's the largest contribution ever from a single donor to the program.
Anonymous in Athol has contributed handsomely to Press Christmas for All for 18 consecutive years. He takes particular delight in writing big checks while keeping his identity a secret to all but a few of Santa's elves.
With Thursday's gift of $20,000, Anonymous in Athol also offered something else.
"On behalf of Athol, we're challenging other individuals in other communities, such as Hayden, to match us," he said. "Jump in during the next few days not just to reach our goal of $175,000, but to beat it."
