Cd'A school trustees honored

The Coeur d'Alene School District Board of Trustees recently received the Idaho School Boards Association's Master of Boardsmanship Award.

Only 10 school boards in the state of Idaho received this award this year. The award is given to a school board that demonstrates effectiveness within the five standards of school board operations: governance, continuous improvement, accountability, advocacy and community engagement.

Individual trustees also reached levels of recognition by the Idaho School Boards Association.

Trustee Christa Hazel, Level 3 - Mastery

Trustee Tom Hearn, Level 3 - Mastery

Hearn currently provides leadership on the Idaho School Boards Association Executive Board. He was appointed vice-chair of Region 1 for Idaho and is a voice for North Idaho at the state level. The ISBA Executive Board works with elected officials and the public to share with them the needs of students and work towards the shared goal of improved achievement for all public school students in Idaho.
