HAYDEN - Someone really wanted to play video games on Sunday, as he attempted to pay for a gaming system using three bank cards that didn't belong to him.

According to a Kootenai County Sheriff's Office incident report, law enforcement was first notified of the man's attempt by two individuals Sunday on an unrelated call. The two told a deputy that the exact same amount of money was fraudulently charged to their accounts from Walmart in Hayden.

According to the report, the deputy went to Walmart on Monday and contacted the store's loss prevention manager. After the deputy told the manager why he was there, the manager immediately pulled up a still photo of a customer at a checkout counter.

According to the report, the man had been in Walmart "several times" on Sunday attempting to buy an Xbox One. The loss prevention manager added that the suspect attempted three different transactions using three different cards.

"Each attempted transaction was for $422.94, the cost of one Xbox One with tax included," the report states.

Two of the three card numbers matched those given to the deputy the day prior. At this time, according to the report, it is unknown who the first card belongs to.

The deputy described the man as being in his 30s, having brown hair, and being approximately 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage hat and dark-colored jacket at the time of the incident.
