4-H: Party does so much more

| August 17, 2014 9:00 PM

WOW! What an amazing evening I had at the Ron and Shelley Rosenberger “Rocking R” Ranch in Hayden to raise awareness and donations for the 4-H Livestock Booster Club.

Before I went, I knew very little about the 4-H Program and when I left, I was enthused, educated and very excited to see the outcome of the projects at our upcoming North Idaho Fair this month.

I was shown by young men and women what 4-H is about, learned about their individual projects and what type of work goes into raising a calf, lamb and pig. All their animals looked beautiful and well cared for and…especially loved. Each youngster took huge pride in what they were doing.

The Rosenberger Party was a magnificent event on a perfect summer evening. They opened their home, had great food, The Kelly Hughes Band performed, and raised donations.

I am in the fortunate position to sit on the Board of a Charitable Foundation and I was very happy to see where my donation was going. It made me feel good to know I was helping to make a slight difference in a child’s life — after all, the 4-H Program and the kids do all the hard work.

Kudos all around — the Rosenbergers, the 4-H Livestock Booster Club, everyone who volunteered their time and mostly to the 4-H Youth who have benefitted and learned so very much through this program.
