BRIDGER: What did parents do?

| August 15, 2014 9:00 PM

I just finished reading the article regarding “Bridger,” the dog found in the ditch who eventually had to be euthanized. I literally feel sick to my stomach after reading these articles that relate to the animal abuse and total lack of consequences as a result.

Can you honestly tell me that if this teenage boy never liked this particular dog being in his family to the point that eventually he stabbed the dog, and then if that wasn’t bad enough had to throw rocks at him and then throw him in a ditch to die, that the parents of this teenager never noticed?

I will just bet that nothing will become of this case, just like the numerous others that go on in this state. People are given a little slap on the hand and then are free to start all over again. Why do our laws just continue year after year after year to be SO lax in this state?

I can’t imagine the adult this person will grow into one day because he was just being a kid and that will be the end of that. So sad and so wrong on so many levels.

I hope Bridger at least felt a bit of kindness that so many of us thankfully have the ability to show an animal, if only for a few days …
