ANNIVERSARY

Ken and Mary Roberts

50th Anniversary

Ken and Mary Roberts celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer with a trip to Hawaii, with son Bryan and wife Tiffany. Upon return to Tri-Cities, their hometown, their daughter Jodi, Doug and step-granddaughters, Angelica and Kali, hosted a beautiful surprise party in their lovely new home with more than 40 friends, neighbors and classmates, and Ken's 99-year-old dad and family members.

They married in Richland, Wash., where they had met in their teens, before Ken went into the Navy and Mary on to college. When both returned and found "that little girls and little boys grew up, they fell in love and the rest is history." Mary had moved to Pasadena, Calif., but Ken soon came and put a ring on her finger and she returned to Richland, where she also had been a classmate and friend of Sharon Tate (pre Hollywood).

As a longtime friend said to Mary at her 50th class reunion, "you have lived a charmed life." The couple agrees since they've been able to travel to many places in the world, with Mary leading the tours, which made it affordable to go to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Caribbean and others. (Charlie Pride, wife and entourage joined them for two days at their hotel in Fiji, and what a hoot!)

They moved from Tri-Cities to Harrison in 1995, then into Coeur d'Alene in 2000, and have loved it, and being involved in many activities, including 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities), church, fitness, women's groups, etc. They also enjoy Lake Havasu very much, and outdoor activities.
