STRANSKY: Check the scoreboard

| April 25, 2014 9:00 PM

We are all familiar with scoreboards, rooting for our team to score at basketball tournaments, football playoffs, and such. Let us also root for the political team striving to make Idaho a better state for you, me and for our children. Pull out that patriotic card deep in your mind, activate it, register to vote, then vote in the upcoming election.

We all want to change the score on the political scoreboard. Our educational system needs and deserves support. Idaho is 50th and at the bottom of the nation in all measures of support for our students and teachers. On that same scoreboard, the minimum wage couldn’t be worse.

Evaluate the person running. Is he/she dedicated to improving Kootenai County and the state of Idaho, understanding the real need and concerns of the citizens in our community? Did his/her children attend our public schools, graduate from high school and continue on to college? Cheryl Stransky, candidate for Idaho State Representative in Legislative District No. 2, Seat A, a longtime resident of Coeur d’Alene, did raise her two children here, they attended Coeur d’Alene public schools, went on to college and graduated. She is running as candidate for Idaho State House of Representatives because she is serious about changing the political scoreboard, if elected. Her intentions are to actively work toward creating a better Idaho for you and me, and our children.

You and I can be a part of implementing these changes by registering to vote, then voting. Otherwise, the scoreboard will continue to stall at No. 50. We can do better. Vote Cheryl Stransky, Legislative Dist. No. 2.
