| April 21, 2014 12:23 PM

Former North Idaho resident, Marvin Chad Parson, 54, passed away on April 16, 2014, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Mr. Parson was born March 15, 1960, to Hans, Jr., and Judy Parson at Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho. He attended Sandpoint High School during his formative years. During this time he got into one of his true passions, racing on dirt tracks. He was also big into basketball and drama.

Marvin married Sherry Elizabeth Stott on August 24, 1979, in Harrison, Idaho. They had two boys: Chad and Cody Parson. The majority of Marvin’s work career was spent either in a mill or driving a truck doing around town delivery routes. He and his family alternated stints in North Idaho and the Oregon Coast over the years before he and his wife settled back in this area once their grandchildren were born.

Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family (which included his pets), riding dirt bikes all over the mountainside, finding treasures along the beach, building things with his hands, and chatting up anyone and everyone. He always had a story to tell.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Hans Parson, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Parson; son, Chad Parson and wife Cassandra, along with grandchildren, Owen and Levi; and son, Cody Parson and wife Alisha, all of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; mother, Judith Barton; sister, Marcy Mcnair of Yuma, Ariz., niece, Markell Walson, and husband Mitch, of Kootenai, Idaho; nephew, Branden Bergman of Tucson, Ariz., and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A service was held Saturday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene. A private family memorial will take place later this summer on the family’s property near Harrison, Idaho. Please visit Mr. Parson’s online memorial at: www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
