Cards split, take 3 of 4 from Snow in series
EPHRAIM, Utah - Kylene Hatton and Madison Anthony scored two runs each in the first game, leading the North Idaho College Cardinals past the Snow Badgers 8-0 in five innings in the first game of a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday.
Snow scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the second game 7-6.
NIC (27-18, 22-14 SWAC) took three of four from Snow (18-22, 15-21) in the weekend series.
Hayden Fields drove in two runs for NIC, which got a combined three-hitter from Brittany Hecker and Miranda Powless to win the first game.
In the second game, Danika Gough singled to score Jessica Barker with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning for Snow.
Hayley Fields had three RBIs in the second game for NIC, which concludes its conference road schedule with doubleheaders next Friday and Saturday at Western Nevada in Carson City.
