• Online academy plans information session tonight

INSPIRE Connections Academy, one of several public online schools free to Idaho students, will hold an information session today from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn.

During this free session, families will have an opportunity to learn about the INSPIRE curriculum, and meet with Connections Academy faculty and other parents.

INSPIRE is an accredited virtual school serving kindergarten to 12th-grade students throughout Idaho.

• Bounce event to raise funds for Bryan Elementary

Time to buy some wristbands and bounce.

The third annual Bryan Bounce FUNdraiser, to support Bryan Elementary School, will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, at Coeur d'Alene High School.

Wristbands for unlimited inflatable bouncing are on now on sale. In addition to 12 large inflatables, there will be carnival games, refreshments, face painting, and silent auction items available. The Bryan Bear is rumored to be making an appearance, as well.

The event is sponsored by the Bryan Elementary PTA. Proceeds will be used to pay for curriculum supplies, field trips, classroom reading material and other educational needs.

Wristbands can be purchased in advance for $12 each. They will cost $15 at the door. A group price of four wristbands for $40 is also available. Organizers are encouraging kids to join their friends to take advantage of the four-wristband discount package.

• Genesis Prep open house set for Wednesday

POST FALLS - Genesis Prep Academy, a K-12 Christian school in Post Falls, will hold an open house from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The school is at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road. The open house will be in Room 301.

Attendees can meet the school staff and ask questions.

• Leadership class offered by U of I

COEUR d'ALENE - Nobody wants to be toxic.

A free class offered by the University of Idaho will focus on how to identify, work with and avoid becoming a "toxic" leader.

"When Leadership Becomes Toxic" is being offered as part of the University of Idaho's Nonprofit Leadership Program. The class runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 22 at the University of Idaho Coeur d'Alene.

Additional classes in the series include the Art of Proposal Writing and Organizational Performance Measurement.

Former Kootenai County grant writer Colleen Allison, now a grant writer with I'll Grant You, will teach the course on proposal writing. The four-session course begins on April 7 and costs $75.

A two-night Organizational Performance Measurement course will focus on organizational improvement and performance. The class is scheduled for April 15-16 and costs $55.
