CAMPGROUND: Too many felled trees

| September 29, 2013 9:00 PM

I am deeply concerned about the “excess” needless falling of healthy trees on the North Fork, where my family and myself spend our vacations and I pay for space in Big Hank Campground.

Last summer someone had many trees fallen in “Kit Price” and “Devil’s Elbow” campsites. Big Hank has had many spaces with not much shade left for the recreational vehicles to escape, all day sun and soaring temperatures.

It is a given fact, trees need “trimmed,” some pruning, some dead and decayed ones need to go, but not many sites will be spared in future years, with “someone” giving the “OK” to cut MORE, and yet MORE trees.

I’m sad to think our grandchildren in future years will recreate in treeless campsites. Just think twice, before the chain saws flatter more beautiful areas.
