Vikings swept by Lewiston

COEUR d'ALENE - Emilee Schlader had 18 kills as the defending state 5A champion Lewiston Bengals defeated the Coeur d'Alene Vikings 25-15, 25-22, 25-15 in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Thursday night.

Megan Ramseyer had 15 assists, five kills and five digs, Sydney Williams seven kills and three blocks, Missy Huddleston 10 digs and Miranda Miller five kills for Coeur d'Alene (11-5, 1-3 5A IEL), which hosts Sandpoint on Tuesday.

"They are a very experienced team, and that helped them stay consistent throughout the long rallies," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said. "I am happy with our team's effort. We are continuing to get better with each match."

Makayla Wilson had 20 assists, Klaree Hobart 16 digs and two aces and Halle White six blocks for Lewiston (17-0, 4-0), which can lock up the league title with a win against Lake City next Thursday at Booth Hall.

Post Falls

splits tri-match

POST FALLS - Brenna Meehan had 18 kills, 13 digs, 20 assists, five blocks and four aces as Post Falls rallied in the last two games to beat Moses Lake 26-28, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 15-4 in the finale of a tri-match at The Arena.

Earlier, Post Falls fell to Sandpoint 25-10, 25-13, 25-20.

Lydea Schneider had 28 assists, Amanda Westlake 24 digs for Post Falls (3-10) vs. Moses Lake. Carina LaFave had 15 kills, Kylee McKay 25 assists for the Chiefs.

Against Sandpoint, Schneider had 11 sssists, Meehan eight kills, Shayna Allert 11 digs and Jamie Brewer two blocks for Post Falls.

Lexi Riley posted eight kills and four aces for Sandpoint. Mariah Kluver added 12 digs, Hailey Dunn 24 assists and Anna Alsager two blocks for Sandpoint.

In the other match, Sandpoint (14-5) beat Moses Lake 25-10, 25-16, 25-18.

Post Falls travels to Idaho Falls for the Bonneville/Hillcrest tournament today and Saturday.

Timberlake

SPIRIT LAKE - Tayah Holbert and Matraca Rocheleau had four kills each for the host Tigers, who fell to the Spartans 25-20, 25-14, 25-7 in Intermountain League play.

Rocheleau had six digs, Courtney Eaton eight assists and Kiara Hauck two aces for Timberlake (1-14, 0-3 IML), which travels to Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.

Jill Weimer had 10 kills, Karly Douglas 20 assists for Priest River (2-1 IML). Megan Whitman had five aces, Mollie French 21 digs, Katlyn Summers three blocks for the Spartans.

Cd'A Charter

COEUR d'ALENE - Gretchen Farkas had 20 assists as the Miners beat the Panthers 25-22, 22-25, 25-10, 25-20 in a nonleague match at Holy Family Catholic School.

Anna Verhaeghe had five kills and six blocks, Taylor Garn eight assists, Libby Goodwin six aces, Taylor Petticolas five kills and Stephanie Kociela four digs for Coeur d'Alene Charter (6-9), which faces Orofino and Grangeville in a Central Idaho League tri-match on Saturday at Grangeville.

"We played a really good game," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Krista Brand said. "We played a lot of rallies and played with a lot of energy tonight."

Kayla Turbak had 14 digs, Shelby Majszak seven kills and Emily Nelson 17 digs and five kills for Wallace (4-3), which travels to Lakeside on Tuesday.

Kootenai

PLUMMER - A balanced attack helped Lakeside beat visiting Kootenai in a North Star League match, 25-19, 25-16, 25-13.

Cailyn Dohrman had seven kills, eight blocks and three digs for the Knights (4-3, 3-1 1A NSL). Francine Hendrickx posted four kills and 10 digs, Avery Brown-Sonder five kills and six aces and Talia Hendrickx 28 assists and two aces.

"We had a really balanced attack at the net," Lakeside co-coach Karyn Stockdale said. "All the hitters did exceptionally well. Kaitlyn Dorman had exceptional net coverage. The team played very well and played great defense."

Kayelee Carman finished with six kills for the Warriors (0-7, 0-5), and Grace McInturff and Jenna Karpinski each had four kills.

Lakeside and Kootenai both play Saturday in the Potlatch tournament.
