Delico P. Streeter "Bill", 94

Delico P. “Bill” Streeter, Age 94, of Boise, ID, formerly of Coeur d’Alene, passed away, August 15, 2013. He was born in Belmont, ID in March 4, 1919, during his youth his family moved to Coeur d’Alene and he graduated fromIHM Academy, in 1938. A World War II Army Veteran in 1943-46, after the war he attended North Idaho Junior College. He received the Carnegie Hero Metal award in November of 1951 for saving five from drowning, when he noticed the car ahead of him plunged into Lake Coeur d’Alene. At the time, he was on a date with his fiancee, RuthSprenger. They later married at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in June of 1952. Bill loved watching sports and enjoyed hunting, hiking, boating and fishing. A loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. After retiring in 1981, he spent the winters in Yuma, AZ for many years, where he enjoyed playing horseshoes, card games and making new friends. Survivors include twin daughters, Jeneen Streeter, Boise, and Janet (Steve) Kempinski, Seneca, SC; One sister, Rose Milot, Vero Beach, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill has joined in heaven twelve of his siblings and is reunited with his favorite dance partner, his wife Ruth and one and only grandson Shad. A celebration of life service, for both Ruth and Bill, will be held at 11:00 am on October 2, 2013 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Coeur d’Alene, burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, and luncheon to follow.
