| September 14, 2013 9:00 PM

BINYON, Steven E., three weeks after being diagnosed with cancer, Steven Binyon went peacefully to be with our Lord on September 9th with his best friend Dave Maine watching over him.

Steve was born November 29th, 1953, in Wichita, KS to Cleon and Dorothy Binyon. He has one surviving brother, David L Binyon. He graduated from high school in Redmond, WA in 1971. He joined the Army, touring in Germany, and serving in the Vietnam War where he earned the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm for valor and heroic conduct.

Steve’s love of music came at an early age and he played guitar, drums, and keyboards. While in high school he competed in several Seattle battles of the bands, and continued playing music while in the military. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Steve moved to California to be closer to family. While in Sacramento, California, he worked at Skip’s Music and continued playing in bands through the 1980s. Steve developed a real talent for bass fishing and competed in the California Bass Circuit. He used the electronics training he received in the Army to become an expert in fish finders and electric trolling motors. He conducted electronic classes for bass school, sport shows, and wrote for Bass Masters and Walleye magazines. Steve entered the marine business in 1993, working for Galaxy Marine from 1996 – 2005. Throughout his career, he attended many service and marine electronics schools.

In 2005 he moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and joined Mark’s Marine in the parts and electronics department. His positive attitude and willingness to assist any customer with electronics or parts questions made him a popular member of the fishing community. Steve helped create the annual fishing seminars at Mark’s Marine, where his electronics seminars were a highlight every spring.

Steve’s hobbies included bass fishing on Hayden Lake, building custom motorcycles, riding with friends, and building and flying RC airplanes.

Steve wanted to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses who attended him at Kootenai Medical Center and the warm care he received at Hospice House.

Please join his family of friends in a celebration of life, Tuesday, September 24th, from 5pm to 7pm at Mark’s Marine in Hayden, Idaho. Interment will be at a later date at the VA Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
